Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actor from the United States. In the film and television industry, she's known for her nominations and awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Her birthplace was and grew up within New York New York. Her mother split with her father when she was around five. Her younger sister then relocated into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was in high school when she saw the James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck production Of Mice and Men and realized that her desire of being an actor had been realized. Following her graduation at Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980 with an undergraduate degree of African American Studies, she was able to obtain a Master's Degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale and, in 1997 they were married. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's degree in African American studies, in the year 1980.
